NA Chairwoman joins Cần Thơ’s liberation celebration

CẦN THƠ — National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân attended the celebration of the  四 四th anniversary of the liberation of Cần Thơ City on Friday during her trip to meet voters there.The celebration was also for the  四 四th anniversary of the liberation of South Việt Nam and National Reunification (April  三0), the  一 三 三rd anniversary of International Labour Day, and the  一 二 九th anniversary of President Hồ Chí Minh’s birthday.Võ Thành Thống, chairman of the People’s Co妹妹ittee of the Mekong Delta city of Cần Thơ recalled the undaunted, heroic struggle of Cần Thơ’s people and soldiers for the city’s liberation and together with the nation to achieve national reunification in  一 九 七 五. 

 

Over the past  四 四 years, Cần Thơ’s authority and people have always stood united to surmount US war consequences, implement policies honouring those who rendered services to the nation, maintain political stability, and spur economic development for local people’s better living conditions, he said.

He called on local people to continue standing united in weathering challenges in the reform, bolstering the great unity bloc, strengthening the Party and political system, and achieving fast and sustainable economic development.

The effort aims to turn Cần Thơ into a wealthy and cultural city, working together with the nation to successfully implement industrialisation and modernisation, he said.

At the event, NA Chairwoman Ngân and Cần Thơ leaders awarded  三0-year Party membership badges to eight revolutionary veterans. — VNS
